Workplace & Corporate Health and Performance

Evidence-led wellness sessions and clinician-delivered health and performance testing for your team — practical, plain English, and built to be acted on.

Most Australian adults aren't getting enough movement. Only 22.4% of 18–64-year-olds met the physical activity guidelines, and 46.9% of employed adults describe their workday as mostly sitting. For a desk-based organisation that isn't a failing — it just means movement has to be planned in, not left to chance.

We help you plan it in: sessions your people genuinely act on, delivered by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, and testing that shows each person exactly where they stand and what to do next.

Who delivers it

Clinician-Led, Not a Wellness Talk

Sessions are presented by Caitlin Hunt, Director of O2 Active and an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with more than 25 years in clinical practice. Alongside the clinic, Caitlin guest lectures in exercise physiology at the University of Western Australia and presents on digital health platforms, so the material your team hears is the same evidence base she teaches to the next generation of clinicians — translated into what a desk-based workforce can actually use.

Every session is built around measurement: what cardiorespiratory fitness and strength predict, how little it takes to shift them, and the practical ways to fit movement into a working week. Staff leave with a handout, a starter plan and the option to be tested.

What We Offer

Workplace Wellness Sessions

45–60 minute sessions on site or online, led by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Evidence-led and practical — for example VO₂ Peak and Longevity: what aerobic fitness predicts, and what moves it, Metabolic health and energy, or Strength and healthy ageing. Each comes with a staff handout and a simple starter plan.

Staff Health & Performance Testing

A clinic-based package for your team at North Fremantle: VO₂ Peak with personal heart-rate training zones, a resting metabolic test, a body-composition scan and strength testing — with a plain-English report and a one-to-one debrief. Individually booked and confidential to each staff member.

Programs & Follow-up

For staff who want to keep going: supervised programs, clinical classes and re-testing at around 12 weeks, coordinated with their GP where relevant. Testing tells people where they are; the follow-up is what changes the numbers.

Corporate Massage

Why It's Worth Your Team's Time

A vital sign

Cardiorespiratory fitness is one of the strongest single predictors of long-term health — and unlike most risk factors, it's modifiable at any age. (Ross et al., Circulation 2016.)

Every step up counts

Across 33 studies, each 1-MET higher level of fitness — roughly jogging 1 km/h faster — was linked to about 13% lower risk of death from any cause. (Kodama et al., JAMA 2009.)

It takes less than you think

Previously sedentary adults aged 60+ improved VO₂ by about 16% with endurance training. Three 1–2 minute bursts of vigorous everyday activity a day were linked to 38–40% lower mortality in non-exercisers. (Huang et al., 2005; Stamatakis et al., Nature Medicine 2022.)

These are population-level associations from observational and trial research. They show how strongly fitness relates to long-term health, not a guarantee for any individual.
