One number isn't a plan. We test the engine, the fuel system, the chassis and the movement — then build your training from the pattern across all of it.

A VO₂ Max on its own tells you the size of the engine. It doesn't tell you how your body fuels itself at rest, where your physiology shifts gears, whether one leg is doing more of the work, or whether you're carrying muscle you can't use.
Athletes who train off a single number tend to plateau. We measure the whole system in one clinic — aerobic capacity, thresholds, fuel use, body composition, force and movement — and read the pattern across the data. That's what your program is built from, and what we retest against.
Clinician-selected for your sport and goals — not every athlete needs every test.
Your aerobic ceiling, measured breath by breath — and your own heart-rate, pace and power zones off it, not a formula.
The intensities where your physiology actually shifts. Tells you where base work ends and threshold work begins.
Your resting metabolic rate and the mix of fat and carbohydrate you burn at rest, measured fasted by indirect calorimetry. A strong engine running on a carbohydrate-dominant resting fuel mix shows up here — and changes how we build your base.
InBody estimates of muscle, fat and left–right balance, tracked as trends under consistent conditions. Because muscle is dense, small changes matter more in athletes.
Dual force plates measure power, strength and left–right asymmetry — the markers that matter for return to play and injury risk.
Quantified joint angles, ranges and compensations — a movement baseline you can track, not a one-off opinion.
Objective strength across key muscle groups: baseline, benchmark and retest.
Lung function — a clear baseline and a pre-training safety check.
The value isn't in any one reading — it's in what the readings say together. A few patterns we see often:
From pattern to program: individually dosed zones, a periodised training block built around your season, and a retest at the end of the block — or after any major change — so the next block is built on what actually moved.
Runners, cyclists, triathletes and rowers setting zones off measured thresholds, and retesting to see what each block changed.
Football codes, hockey, HYROX and CrossFit — repeated high-intensity efforts live and die on aerobic capacity and power-to-weight.
ADF, WA Police, DFES and similar standards. Test to find the starting point, target the gaps, retest before assessment day.
Force-plate and movement data to guide return to play, working with your physio or exercise physiologist — including our affiliate clinic, Eric Street Physio.
Performance and healthy ageing together — defending aerobic capacity, strength and power through the decades.
Junior and college-bound athletes, with parent or guardian consent and tests chosen to suit their age and stage — framed carefully around capability and long-term health, see below.
Body-composition and metabolic testing can be a trigger for athletes who are already body-conscious. We set the frame deliberately before any number is shared.
With your consent, we send a plain-English summary to your coach, dietitian, physio or sports physician — so everyone is working from the same numbers, and their guidance can build directly on your results. Our reports cover the physiology: energy and fuel use, capacity, thresholds, strength and recovery. Nutrition prescription stays with your dietitian; medical decisions stay with your doctor.
