The Change Is the Whole Point

We've spent two decades helping people do things they thought were behind them. These are their stories — and ours.

Every number we measure is really a question: what does this let you do again? Get back on the bike. Pick up the grandkids. Walk into a cardiology review with results that surprise your own specialist. Finish treatment stronger than you started it.

The testing is how we get there. The relationship is why it works. And these stories are where the two meet.

Why we do it

The Part You Can't Put on a Results Sheet

Here's the thing the equipment can't do on its own: know you. Remember that you were nervous about the treadmill test in March, and celebrate with you when you smash it in June. Notice when something's off before you've said a word. Sit in the room with your diagnosis and make the next step feel possible instead of frightening.

That's the part our clients talk about when they refer their friends. Not the force plates — the fact that someone was genuinely in their corner, took the time to understand where they were starting from, believed they could get further, and never once made them feel smaller for where they began. We see our clients as capable. We build their capacity. And we stay long enough to watch them use it.

Twenty-plus years of relationships, referrals and returning faces have been built on exactly that. It's the reason the practice works — and the reason it's stayed personal at a clinical level most places can't hold.

Real People, Real Numbers

Measured change, and the people behind it. Each story pairs the objective before-and-after with the human side of the work. Shared with our clients' permission — names and identifying details have been changed at their request.

Metabolic health & menopause

Anne, 53 — burning fat again through menopause

Anne came to us in perimenopause, frustrated: she'd gained weight she couldn't shift, and low-calorie "fasting" diets had left her exhausted. Her ECAL metabolic test showed why — at rest she was burning 100% carbohydrate and 0% fat, so those crash diets had nothing to draw on, and her visceral fat was high at 15.

We reduced the carbohydrate load, added quality protein, and built a lower-body strength and walking program around her. Within weeks, her metabolism had changed.

Robyn, 64 — the stairs she hadn't managed in two years

Robyn wanted to lose weight and move more easily again. We built a supervised strength program and kept her consistent — even through a stretch of illness and family stress, she held 6,000–8,000 steps a day. The scales moved, but the moment that mattered was different: she climbed a long flight of coastal stairs she hadn't been able to manage in two years.

David — from back pain to real loading

David's back pain had been limiting everything he tried in the gym. We settled his symptoms first, then rebuilt his capacity with carefully progressed loading. In three weeks he went from pain-limited sets to full, confident lifts — and added genuine strength along the way.
