Exercise is standard cancer care. We deliver it properly.
The Clinical Oncology Society of Australia recommends exercise as part of standard cancer care — because the evidence is strong. Our oncology program gives people going through treatment, living with, or beyond cancer a safe, supervised environment to put that evidence to work, with programs designed around your diagnosis, treatment regimen and current capacity.
Supervised exercise measurably reduces cancer-related fatigue.
Counters the muscle loss that treatment and inactivity drive.
Helps maintain fitness through treatments that can affect the heart, with intensity set to your oncology and cardiology team's guidance.
Genuine, evidence-backed effects on anxiety and low mood.
Exercise during treatment has been linked in trials to better completion of planned chemotherapy.
Initial assessment covering your oncology history, treatment plan and goals; baseline testing scaled to your current capacity; then 1:1 sessions, semi-private sessions or clinical classes with EPs experienced in oncology. Progress is reported to your oncology team and GP.
O2 Active delivers the Cancer Council WA Life Now exercise physiology program — a structured, supervised group program for people who have been diagnosed with cancer, during or after treatment. Sessions are run by Accredited Exercise Physiologists experienced in oncology, with a baseline assessment, individually scaled exercise and progress reported back to your treating team.
Places are limited and open to people living with or beyond cancer. Email reception to ask about the next intake.
Book an oncology assessment, or refer a patient for supervised exercise during or after treatment.
