STRAINED EYES FROM STARING AT A SCREEN ALL DAY? Follow these tips: 1. The distance between your eyes and the screen should be 1 arms length away. If it is difficult to read you can always increase the font size on your computer. 2. Use eye drops: staring at a screen usually means blinking less, causing irritation. 3. Take regular breaks, take a few minutes to go for a quick walk, stand up and stretch the body.

Headache? It could be your neck.
A tension headache is the most common form of headache. Diagnosis is often an aching or tightness around the back of the skull, temple and or forehead of variable intensity and duration. Cause is often related to stress or tightness in muscles around the
neck and can be relieved by physio treatment, stretches, massage and improving your posture. Your physios are in at EY on Mondays 1-3 and are available for the month of November at Rebate Rate pricing. This means you pay nothing but the rebate you receive from your health fund. Stress, Communication in the Workplace and YOUR Wellness Centre
A study published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology showed that our own mindset determines how we judge other people’s responses to stress as positive or negative. This can lead to miscommunication and missed opportunities in the workplace. The Perth Wellness Centre located on level 2 offers a range of classes and services that is a great way to take a lunch break from the office and reboot your mind, decrease work and personal stress and give yourself a positive energy lift! Set your goal and write it downClear out your cupboards of junk food so you don’t get tempted to snack on rubbish
Eat from the rainbow. Have a stock of healthy ingredients and snacks.
Know your portions (come and chat to us after one of our classes if you are unsure!!)
Start small if you are new to exercise but START now. Walking or our pilates or yoga classes are a great starting point.
If you are time poor, get exercise done in the morning. If you are busy with kids in the morning, check out our lunchtime classes: fit your exercise into your work day and don’t lose family or social time at the end of the day!
Set up a team challenge at work and surround yourself with support and people to help keep you on track.
