Active Ageing 

BETTER AGEING TO IMPROVE INDEPENDENCE, FALLS PREVENTION, CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT & HEALTH & WELLBEING

Our Active Ageing program designed for older Australian’s over the age of 65. My Aged Care Packages, private health and medicare rebates may apply. All one on one sessions are run by Accredited Exercise Physiologists who are qualified allied health professionals and specialise in:

  • Rehabilitation
  • Increase muscle strength
  • Pain management
  • Falls prevention
  • Osteoporosis and improving bone density
  • Chronic disease management
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Improving mobility, balance and stability

ELIGIBILITY

The program is open to participants over 65 years old and Indigenous Australian’s over the age of 55. A pre-screening health assessment is recommended prior to commencing the classes which can be completed as a private consultation with each person over the phone or via video.

TO ACCESS THE GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES, WE REQUIRE:

    • $23 for each one hour class or $200 for 10 classes
    • Individual home and in clinic visits are available

Who runs the class?

Each class will be run by the O2 Active team (Accredited Exercise Physiologists) and will be taken at O2 Active’s gym in various Perth locations or via an approved Telehealth provider.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi can decrease anxiety and depression symptoms and improve cognition and can help manage symptoms of some chronic diseases, reduce bone loss in menopausal women and improves lower body and leg strength.

Yoga

Yoga can have numerous benefits for people over the age of 50 when practiced correctly. Yoga can help promote better sleep habits, improve your strength and protect joints, reduce hypertension and help with chronic pain.

Core and Restore

This class focuses on stretching, breathing, and core work  and is designed to open out and release muscles and joints, alleviate soreness, work the connective tissue, build core strength and give your mind a  break

Pilates

Our pilates classes are gentle and modifiable, making them the perfect class for almost anyone. Pilates increases strength, flexibility and endurance and can help improve mobility and assist in the prevention of falls.

Aqua Fit

Low-impact water workouts that build muscle strength, fitness and endurance.  The class can assist with joint problems, chronic pain and injury recovery.  Classes may extend before and after Summer pending weather conditions
